Meditation to Reduce Stress and Anxiety

Reduce your stress with meditation.

This course will teach you how to cope with and manage stress or anxiety using a variety of meditative and mind-body approaches. You will learn stress reduction techniques you can use at home or at the office to feel more in control, grounded, and balanced. Each meditation session will integrate a different method of relaxation for your personal use, such as breathing exercises, body movement, visualizations, and deep relaxation techniques. You will also learn how to identify and become aware of stressful thoughts and how they sabotage your well-being. Students are encouraged to bring notebooks and wear comfortable clothing. Feel free to bring a yoga mat and/or pillows to sit on for extra comfort. Gold Card Fee is $26.25. Tuition: $35. Class meets 6:00–8:00 PM, Thursday, October 22 and 29, at Vernon Hills High School.
