Mental Health and Spirituality: The Resilience Connection

Research
shows that having a spiritual life orientation fosters better mental health
and, in fact, promotes resilience in the face of adversity. For many, this
spiritual connection may mean a connection to a specific religious faith. For
others, having a spiritual life may mean something very different. Knowing that
spirituality can foster improved mental health, how can we foster this in
ourselves and others? This sermon will focus on an examination of the concept of
spirituality and its role in mental health promotion.  Childcare is available for ages up to 3 and children’s religious
education for preschool through high school runs concurrent to the adult
service.

well-being. Amy has been a member of Prairie Circle UU Congregation since 2010.
