Missing Evanston Man Found Dead Near Libertyville: Officials
Authorities found the missing Evanston man dead along the Des Plaines River after an extensive search in Lake County.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A man reported missing after leaving his Evanston home was found dead Friday following a large multiagency search in Lake County, authorities said.
Emergency responders located and recovered the man's body around 7:30 p.m. Friday along the shoreline of the Des Plaines River near Libertyville, according to the Lake County Forest Preserves police.
The man, whom police did not identify, was about 30 years old and was reported missing on Thursday. Authorities said he was last seen near a forest preserve in the Libertyville area.

The search involved the Lake County Forest Preserves police, the Lake County Sheriff's Office, local police and fire departments, K-9 teams and other emergency responders.
"Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time," officials said in a statement.

The Lake County Coroner's Office is investigating the death and will release any additional information. Authorities did not say whether foul play is suspected.
