Mundelein HS Student Charged After Posting Bomb Threat: Police
Police said the male student posted the threat to his real account.

MUNDELEIN, IL — A Mundelein High School student was arrested Saturday after police said he wrote a social media post that talked about bombing the school, less than one week after the new school year began. Chicago Tribune reported a weekend email to parents said a Mundelein High School student had posted a threat to “bomb the school” that included “hate speech.”
Mundelein Deputy Police Chief Don Hansen said the boy was “absolutely not” capable of creating a bomb, adding that no single incident prompted the post that was made by the boy's real account, Chicago Tribune reported. However, the student was charged with a felony count of threat against a building/person and was released to his parents, according to Hansen.
Chicago Tribune said a Monday morning statement by school officials reported the issue was resolved and all activities would resume normally.
