Dog Days Of Summer 2017: Schedule Of Events For Three-Day Libertyville Festival
The Dogs Days of Summer is back. 100 dogs will compete for the longest and highest jump in Libertyville this weekend. And you can watch.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL -- The Dog Days of Summer has returned to Libertyville. The festival, which is in its ninth year, attracts thousands of people to the village as Libertyville serves host to the DockDogs National Dog Jumping Competition. Those attending can watch as over 100 nationally ranked dogs run down a 40-foot dock and leap into a 27,000-gallon pool of water as they compete for the longest distance or the highest vertical jump.
The festivities and the competitions get underway on Friday and continue through Sunday at Cook Park, 300 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Libertyville. In addition to the three-day dog-jumping competition, there will be several other dog-oriented events and over 30 vendors at Cook Park throughout the weekend.
At noon on Saturday, July 8, a gratitude ceremony will be held to to honor service personnel. Also, attendees can check out a Lake County K-9 demo, take part in the doggy parade, try doggy yoga, catch the action with Frisbee Dogs, or attend Saint Lawrence Churches Sunday morning Multi-Faith Pet Blessing Ceremony.

Friday, July 8
- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: DockDog Regional Competition begins and jumping is continuous through Sunday at 5 p.m.
- 6 p.m.: Opening Ceremonies local dog jumping competition. Wayne Messmer will sing the National Anthem and Mayor Terry Weppler will throw out the first Ball. Fifteen local dogs will compete for the title of "Libertyville's Big Air Dog."
Saturday, July 9
- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: DockDog Competition
- Noon to 1 p.m.: Sheriff K-9 Demo
- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Vendors in Cook Park
Sunday, July 10
- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: DockDogs finals, the best of the best dogs
- 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.: Warm up exercise with your dog-Libertyville Sports Complex
- 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.: 3K Fun Walk-Libertyville Running Club
- 11 a.m. to noon: Multi-faith Pet Blessing
