New 'Small Plate-Style Restaurant' Opens Friday
The Board Room is planing for a Friday opening while other new restaurants are coming soon to downtown Libertyville.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A handful of new restaurants have opened, or will be opening soon, in downtown Libertyville.
Among the newest additions is The Board Room, which is the brain child of real estate broker Liz Turnbaug, a Libertyville native, who opened My CharCUTErie in downtown Libertyivlle during COVID, the Daily Herald is reporting. That business, which creates and caters custom charcuterie boards, boxes and grazing tables, has since moved to a bigger location in Lake Forest.
But Turnbaug has brought her small bites options to her new restaurant, with charcuterie boards available to order as appetizers. The "small-plate-style restaurant" also has a variety of flatbreads, hot entrees and desserts as well as an extensive wine menu.

Located at 137 Lake Street, the space, which formerly housed Tommy's Pizza & Sports Bar, has been completely transformed from a sports bar to a stylish space with black and white decor throughout, according to the Daily Herald.
"We needed to make this a space that stood out and I think we achieved that," Designer Hillary Spencer told the newspaper. "We wanted to make sure it wasn't too intimidating. Color was a big part of this, but we wanted to give it a punch."
