Police Chase Car In Wrong Lane On Milwaukee Ave: Police Blotter

The police chase started in Libertyville on Nov. 1. The 24-year-old driver was later located by Lake County Sheriff's Office deputies.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A 24-year-old man accused of fleeing from police in recent weeks now faces several charges. Joshua Nathan Conde, of the 25000 block of West Catherine Avenue in Antioch, is charged with improper lane usage, improper passing on the left, disobeying a traffic control device and two counts of fleeing and eluding police in connection with the Nov. 1 police chase, which started at 5:50 p.m. in Libertyville, when an officer spotted a vehicle heading north in the southbound lanes of traffic on Milwaukee Avenue, according to a Libertyville Police Department report.

Officers tried to pull the vehicle over but the driver allegedly refused to stop. Police said he continued driving in the wrong lane of traffic and committed "numerous additional traffic violations" until he continued out of the town's limits.

At 7 p.m., the Lake County Sheriff's Office located the vehicle. Conde was behind the wheel of the car, was taken into custody and transferred to the Libertyville Police Department, according to the police report.

He was released after signing a $2,500 personal recognizance bond and is next expected in court on Dec. 18.
