Woman Killed in Head-On Crash, Man Critically Injured

A 31-year-old Zion woman was killed in a head-on collision on Route 41 in Gurnee early Saturday, according to ABC 7.

The two-vehicle crash happened on northbound Route 41 at Washington Street at about 1:31 a.m. on Saturday, the Lake County News-Sun reports. The woman, who is not being identified at this point, was found dead in the vehicle when authorities arrived.

The woman was driving one vehicle and a 44-year-old-year-old man driving the other vehicle was critically injured in the crash, according to the Daily Herald. The man needed to be cut from the car and was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

The crash remains under investigation.
