Round Lake Beach Woman, 26, Dies in Lake Co. Crash
The one-vehicle crash happened in unincorporated Antioch, near the Wisconsin-Illinois border, Monday night.

ANTIOCH, IL - A 26-year-old Round Lake Beach woman was killed Monday night when her car collided with a tree near the Wisconsin-Illinois border, police said.
Megan E. Rail was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred in the area of West North Avenue and Burning Bush Lane at about 10:15 p.m., according to a Lake County Sheriff’s Office press release.
A preliminary investigation revealed a 2011 Chevrolet HHR was heading west on North Avenue in the area of Burning Bush Lane when Rail, for an unknown reason, lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, according to the news release.
Rail was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Crash investigators responded to the scene and continue to investigate if drugs, alcohol, and/or speed were a factor in the crash, police said.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
