2 Men Fall Through Thin Ice on Lake After Ice Fishing
The men were ice fishing on Channel Lake in unincorporated Antioch Sunday afternoon. Both were taken to area hospitals.

Two men fell through the ice while returning to shore after ice fishing on a lake in northern Lake County Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
One of the men was able to pull himself out of the water of Channel Lake in unincorporated Antioch after plunging through the thin ice at about 3:10 p.m., Christopher Covelli, a spokesman for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, said in a news release. The other man was rescued by members of the Antioch Fire Department. He was in the water for about 30 minutes.
One of the men was taken to Saint Catherine’s Hospital in Kenosha, Wis., and the other man was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Both were transported with non-life threatening injuries, Covelli said.
The sheriff’s office reminds the community due to warm temperatures the ice on the lakes can be dangerously thin.
