Services Set for Gurnee College Student Found Dead in Dorm Room

The student who died in a dorm room at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio last Friday has been identified as Erica Buschick from Gurnee.

Buschick was found unresponsive by her roommate Friday morning and could not be revived, the Daily Herald reports. Authorities are still working to determine a cause of death and toxicology results are pending.

Buschick was a freshman at Miami University and was studying special education. She was a graduate of Warren Township High School where she was a "proud member of the National Honor Society," according to her obituary. In her free time, she liked to spend time with friends and family.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee. A funeral mass will follow visitation at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.

Erica is survived by her parents Eric and Donna Buschick and her sisters Danielle and Loren Buschick.
