Sauces Made Easy

Learn how easy it is to make a great sauce.

Chef Daniel will help you unlock the secrets to sauces, which is the key to many great dishes. This interactive class will cover everything from stock (the backbone of most sauces), to pan sauce and bechamel to make Mac and Cheese and Biscuits and Gravy. By the end of class, you will be familiar with terms such as fond, the flavor crystals left in the pan after searing meat; and roux, a versatile thickening component used in bechamel and cheese sauces. All basic ratios, ingredients, proper procedures and storage of sauces will be discussed. A $12 material fee is included in the tuition. Gold Card Fee: $38.50. Tuition: $45. Class meets Thursday, October 8 at 7:00–9:00 PM at Libertyville High School. Registration is required.
