Sexual Predator Wanted in Lake Co. Arrested in Ohio

Quincy Ray is also believed to be the leader of a high-ranking gang in Chicago.

A sex offender wanted out of Lake County for failing to register -- who is also believed to be a high-ranking leader in a Chicago street gang -- was arrested this past week in Ohio.

Quincy Ray, 36, was wanted on two active arrest warrants out of Lake County at the time of his arrest Wednesday in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Ray, a registered sexual predator, failed to appear in court earlier this month for charges of violating the sex offender registry and failing to report an address change, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

On January 12, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Sexual Offender Compliance Team attempted to verify Ray was living at the address he provided in unincorporated Gurnee. Detectives learned Ray was not living at his registered address, which is a violation of the sex offender registry laws. An arrest warrant and $750,000.00 bond was issued for Ray’s address.

Authorities learned Ray may have fled to Ohio, and on Wednesday, members of the U.S. Marshall’s Office in Ohio arrested Ray as he exited a mall in Cincinnati. A firearm was recovered at the scene, according to a U.S. Marshall’s Office press release.

Ray, who is also believed to be a high-ranking leader in the Black P Stones street gang out of Chicago, remains in custody the Hamilton County, Ohio, Jail pending an extradition hearing, authorities said Friday morning.
