Teen Charged In Shooting Death Of Gurnee Woman
Isaiah J. Cole, 19, of Gurnee, is charged with involuntary manslaughter following the death of Ameyah T. Brewton, 21, police said.

GURNEE, IL — A teen charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting death a Gurnee woman is expected to appear in bond court in Lake County on Monday, authorities said.
Isaiah J. Cole, 19, also faces charges of possession of a stolen firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm without a FOID card, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver following the domestic dispute, which occurred in the 600 block of Creekside Circle in Gurnee, according to a news release from the Gurnee Police Department.
When officers arrived at the scene shortly after midnight on Sunday, they found Ameyah T. Brewton, 21, with at least one gunshot wound. Brewton, of Gurnee, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, according to authorities.

Authorities say Cole and Brewton were in a domestic relationship, and the shooting is an isolated incident.
The Lake County Major Crimes Task Force is assisting the Gurnee Police Department with the investigation into the shooting.
