Police Release Video of Burglar Crashing Truck Through Gun Shop, Stealing Ammunition
The crash and burglary occurred at Just Target Guns in Libertyville early Tuesday.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL - The Libertyville Police Department is continuing to ask for the public's help as authorities try to track down a burglar accused of crashing his car through a gun shop and then stealing ammunition from the store.
On Wednesday, the police department posted surveillance video from the early morning Tuesday crash and burglary at Just Target Guns, 334 West Peterson Road in Libertyville, on the police department's Facebook page. The suspect can be seen ramming his truck into the front of the store and then later entering the gun shop amid rubble left behind following the crash.

Police said the burglar used his truck to crash through the wall of the gun store at about 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The suspect first fled the scene only to return a short while later to steal cases of ammunition from the shop, police said.
Libertyville police said the burglar intentionally crashed his truck through the front of the business to gain access to the building.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male between 18 and 25 years old. He was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, black shorts, black high-top gym shoes and a bandana to cover his face.

The pick-up truck is described as dark in color and should have fresh damage to the rear of the vehicle, the undercarriage and the rear driver’s side quarter panel.
