Woman Steals Phone, Turns Self In On Theft Charge: Police

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A Round Lake Beach woman is being accused of stealing a cellphone in 2017, according to a Libertyville Police Department press release. Nora Vargas, 20 at the time, allegedly stole the cellphone at Brightstar Corporation in Libertyville.

A surveillance video of the theft shows Vargas taking the phone from the employee locker area, police say.

An arrest warrant was issued for Vargas in August 2017. She turned herself in at the Lake County Jail on March 26, where she was issued her warrant and released on a personal recognizance bond.

Vargas is set to be arraigned at the Lake County Courthouse on April 19.
