Home Invader Sexually Abused Girls In Lincoln Park: Police

Police have released a surveillance video of a person of interest.

CHICAGO, IL — A man broke into two homes in Lincoln Park Sunday and sexually abused two young girls who were sleeping in their bedrooms, police said. The man broke into a home in the 400 block of West Belden around 2 a.m. and abused a girl while she slept in her bedroom, police said. Around 20 minutes later, the man broke into another home in the 500 block of West Grant Place, where he abused an 11-year-old girl, according to police.

Police released a surveillance video of a person of interest Wednesday night, which shows a man walking down an alley around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday.

The suspect is described as a white man, 20-30 years old, 5-foot-6 to five-foot-7 and weighing around 160 pounds, police said. He has short brown or strawberry blonde hair and smokes cigarettes.

In 43rd Ward crime alert, Ald. Michele Smith said that in both home invasions, the doors were left unlocked.
