KERRY AND SARAH WOOD APPOINT NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR WOOD FAMILY FOUNDATION

Zachary A. Korotko appointed as the new Executive Director of the Wood Family Foundation (WFF).

Kerry and Sarah Wood appoint Zachary A. Korotko as the new Executive Director of the Wood Family Foundation (WFF). Korotko, who is replacing Amy Wright, will oversee the growth and expansion of the foundation’s youth programs.

“We are thrilled to have Zach leading our team. His extensive experience in fundraising and program development for non-profits will have an immense impact on where we want to be in the next 3-5 years,” explains Sarah Wood. “He understands our strategy and vision and will be a true representative of our foundation that we have put our heart and soul into.”

Korotko has worked for youth-focused nonprofits across the country for over twenty years including The Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago and Christopher House. He began his career as a special education teacher and since then, has designed, managed, and led programming for community arts agencies, after-school programs, mental health facilities, and human services providers. For the past two and half years, Korotko has led the capacity building and nonprofit education programs for Donors Forum, the statewide association of nonprofits and grantmakers.

Korotko knew early on that he enjoyed helping people. He was born and raised in the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago and began volunteering with nonprofits while in high school. While attending Princeton University, Zach spent several summers leading kids from nearby Trenton, NJ on camping trips with the university’s outdoor education program.

After graduating with a BA in developmental psychology, Korotko moved to northern California and New Orleans, LA before returning to Chicago and settling in Humboldt Park. He and his wife are active volunteers and enjoy showing their two sons the vast array of cultural and artistic activities in Chicago.

“I’m extremely excited to be given this opportunity. For still being a relatively new organization, we are in a great position to really begin scaling our programs and attracting new partners. These next few years are going to be an exciting time to be at WFF.”
