Navy Pier invites Chicago to say #FerrWell to its iconic Ferris wheel with free overnight rides and weekend-long events, throughout “The Last Ride, First Bite Weekend” September 26-27 to commemorate the current Ferris wheel as work begins on new wheel to be ready for operation in summer 2016.
From 1-4 p.m. Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, new and existing restaurants on Navy Pier will offer guests free ‘bites’ of some of their favorite dishes – some of which will be exclusive Navy Pier menu items.
Also, beginning Saturday night, the Ferris wheel will operate free of charge overnight, offering guests free rides from 10 p.m. to 9:45 a.m.

On Sunday, September 27, Chicago will say #FerrWell to the current Ferris wheel before it is taken down. Well-known and everyday Chicagoans will join together and share their own last rides against the backdrop of a special firework show.
All weekend long, more than new and existing restaurants will be offering guests free ‘bites’ of some of their favorite dishes. It will be a great ‘get to know you’ weekend for our restaurants, and rare opportunity for our visitors to sample a wide-range of offerings now available at the Pier.
