New Performing Arts Studio Shakes Up Arts Scene in Lincoln Park
On March 5, an innovative Chicago studio will launch new acting, physical theatre, dance, and music classes.
The Performing Arts Studio, 630 W. Webster, announces a new spring session set to begin Monday, March 5. The studio invites all serious performers in training, inspired amateurs and curious children, teens and adults to explore the performing arts. The spring session will include classes in acting, physical theatre, dance and music.
“We are excited to raise the curtain on our new spring session designed to help students of all ages to learn and enhance their skills in the performing arts,” said Víctor Maraña, Performing Arts Studio founder and director. “We focus on training the integral self, body, voice, emotions and psyche to foster the application of these principles on stage and in daily life,” adds Maraña.
Maraña has performed around the world in renowned venues like the National Theatre in Mexico, Victory Gardens in Chicago and the Messini Festival in Greece, Sinaia, Romania. He has also produced plays for the National Theatre in Mexico. After pursuing a Master's Degree in Acting and Physical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and teaching vocal and physical acting techniques in Mexico, Maraña brought his talents to Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, where he recently founded the Performing Arts Studio.
