Second City offers free classes during National Mental Health Week
Second City offers free social development experiences during National Mental Health Week.
Second City is taking its commitment to community involvement to new levels with free, community classes during National Mental Health Week. These community outreach event are part of Second City’s expanding Wellness Program, which also includes Improv for Anxiety, Improv for ASD and Humor Doesn’t Retire: Improv for Older Adults.
These events will use improve games, workshops and showcases to help people at the Second City Training Center for young adults high school aged and older.
Tonight participants can participate in “Storytelling and the Gift of Truth.” Tomorrow (10/8), there are four different workshops including Singing Against the Darkness, Self Discovery through Improvised Song, Making & Faking Confident Choices through Music Improv, and Intro to Improv for ASD. The rest of the week offers more workshops.

Friday, October 10 there’s what you might call a Wellness Happy Hour from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The UP Comedy Club showcase and reception (aka the Wellness Week Showcase), brings together stand up and an ensemble performance before wrapping the event with an appetizer reception.
