Uptown Family Outgrows Vintage City Charmer
A growing Uptown family of four sold their home in one week after doing this one thing.
They say life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans – or at least so goes the quote made famous by John Lennon. While Chicagoan Jessica B. was busy making her vintage Uptown condo the ideal spot for her and her husband over the last eight years, life – and the arrival of two young children – quickly made their city condo feel cramped. A more spacious home became a top priority for the couple. The time had come to list their historic home and all its period details, like its vintage handcrafted wooden fireplace, and its claw-foot tub, for sale.

Jessica sought Uptown’s best seller’s agent so her family could trade the city, for more space. “It really made sense to me that Agent Ace uses analytics and data to drive the decision. Being a teacher, we use so much of that in our school – everything is data-driven.”
Given the condo’s size and price, Jessica was paired with top Uptown seller’s agent, Matthew. “Honestly we had no idea where to start when looking for a realtor aside from a gut feeling or referrals from friends or family. This just seemed like a better way to do it.”

Matthew led Jessica and her family through the whole process from beginning to end. Given that it was their first sale, the process could have easily been overwhelming. Jessica mitigated that issue by ensuring that they were working with the top performing agent for their home type; because of that, the sale process proved seamless. “Every email that we sent, every text that we sent – they would respond to us, no matter what, within minutes. It didn’t matter if it was 9pm on a weekend,” she said. The ease of communication helped to assuage the first-time seller’s concerns.
It only took a week to receive the ideal offer on their home – and Jessica and her family were off to a more spacious home of their own. “It was fast! Much faster than we were thinking,” Jessica laughed.
