The two owners boast many years of restaurant experience. Carmelo Scalzo attended DePaul University, studying Marketing, and lived on campus in Lincoln Park. Scalzo comes from a family of Chicagoland entrepreneurs and restaurateurs. He spent a lot of time at his family’s restaurant/bar establishments and always shared the desire and passion of one day being in the same industry.

Agostino Feminella has been in the restaurant business all of his life. His grandfather came to the United States in 1956 and started working as a pizza maker in Calumet City, working in this capacity for over 40 years. Agostino’s earliest restaurant memories include watching his “Nonno” flipping pizzas for John’s Restaurant. He began working in the industry when his father and brother-in-law opened Piazza Bella in Roscoe Village when he was 21 years old. He now possesses over 16 years of experience in managing restaurants.

While attending DePaul, Scalzo became very familiar with the Lincoln Park area and when the opportunity arose where he could return to this community and reconnect with his alma matter just a few blocks away, he quickly worked with his cousin and now partner Agostino to put their restaurant concept to paper and put together a business plan and menu that they feel fits into the community, while having what they feel is a unique, authentic menu.
