Lincoln Square Neighbors Forming Steering Committee
The Heart of Lincoln Square Neighbors Association said the committee's goal is to draft a mission statement and bylaws.

CHICAGO, IL — The Heart of Lincoln Square Neighbors Association, which held its kickoff event in early October, has announced it's putting together a steering committee. The association said the committee's goal is to draft a mission statement and bylaws. The group said it's already reached out to several "passionate neighbors" who've agreed to be on the committee.
The association saw a big turnout for their launch event Oct. 2, held at Carbon Arc bar on North Lincoln Avenue. Nearly 100 people showed up for the event, and organizers said they were blown away by the turnout.
"We've got a lot of work ahead to create a neighbors association worthy of the passion we saw tonight at Carbon Arc Bar...THANK YOU for showing how much this neighborhood cares, and for showing up to support one another," the group posted to its Facebook page.

The group also said there would be no discrimination based on geographic boundaries—anyone who felt connected to the Lincoln Square community was welcome to come to the meeting.
The association plans for the steering committee to draft a mission statement and bylaws that will identify initial committees. The committee will also identify a formal process for selecting board members in the spring, the association said.
