The Velveteen Rabbit comes to life on stage

Lifeline Theatre brings a beloved children's book to life through November 23.

I think every family has at least one copy of the beloved children’s book The Velveteen Rabbit. Margrey Williams wrote a book that transcends place and time with its story of unconditional love. The wonderful Lifeline Theatre is bringing this family favorite to the stage as the first production of its 2014-2015 KidSeries. What’s great about the Lifeline Theatre is that it’s a small theater with a big heart. The children’s productions are created with the same care and professionalism as the adult productions. There’s always a nod to kids and their attention spans with some interactive elements.

The show runs one hour without an intermission. After the show some of the actors will be in the lobby autographing the kids’ programs and answering questions. It’s always fun to see the kids talking to the actors. Their questions are charming and often insightful. The actors are always patient with the kids, especially those too shy to actually get close enough to hand off their program for an autograph.

The Lifeline Theatre is located in Rogers Park at 6912 N. Glenwood. Tickets are just $15 per person. You can find more information or purchase tickets by calling 773-761-4477 or visiting www.lifelinetheatre.com.
