• Alleged drunk driver crashes into poles and flees on foot, tries telling police he was walking his dog in Old Mill Creek (lakemchenryscanner.com) — Lindenhurst police helped track down a man accused of crashing a pickup into utility poles near Stearns School Road and Route 45, then fleeing on foot early Sunday. Officers later found him nearby, where he allegedly tried to claim he was just walking his dog before running again, resisting arrest, and being taken into custody on DUI and drug-related charges.
