Bring A Little Christmas To Disadvantaged Children This November at US Marine Corps Toys For Tots Gala

The 6th annual Toys For Tots Gala in support of DuPage County Toys For Tots will kick off the holiday season at 7pm on Friday, November 20 at the Hilton of Lisle/Naperville! The public is invited to attend with presenting sponsor The Stiletto Strategy Group, members of the community, and United States Marine Corps Reserve.

The celebration will include hors d’oeuvres and an open bar, music and dancing, a wine pull and an elevated raffle. The evening’s proceedings will be emceed by Danielle Tufano, 95.9FM The River Program Director and Co-host of The River’s morning radio show, “Mackay In The Morning.”

Tickets may be purchased at www.TheStilettoStrategyGroup.com for $100. Guests can book their rooms at the Hilton of Lisle/Naperville at a special rate of $89 for this event weekend, $10 of which would further support Toys For Tots.

The mission of the Toys For Tots Foundation is to assist the United States Marine Corps Reserve in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmastime. The success of the program relies on volunteer support and community involvement. Toy distribution normally takes place throughout the month of December.

Attendees of the Toys For Tots Gala are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the event. All toy donations collected that evening will be distributed by members of the DuPage County Marine Corps League to registered 501(c)3 organizations, ultimately reaching the needy children within the community.

“I have so many happy childhood memories of Christmas, and it breaks my heart to know that there are children in our community who do not get to enjoy that,” says Nicole Comis, event organizer and Presenting Sponsor, and Owner of The Stiletto Strategy Group. “That’s why I’ve made it my mission every year to help DuPage County Toys For Tots fulfill their motto: ‘Every Child Deserves A Little Christmas!’”

DuPage County Toys For Tots Coordinator Rita O’Reilly agrees: “The annual Toys For Tots Gala hosted by The Stiletto Strategy Group is the kickoff event for the DuPage County Toys For Tots season and is recognized by the Foundation as a significant contributor to our overall goals.”

Last year, the DuPage County Marine Corps League Det. #399 Toys For Tots campaign distributed toys to 25,573 children aged 0-13, and collected monetary donations used to purchase additional toys (each year there is a shortage of toys collected for kids of ages 11-13).

“While Toys For Tots Coordinators organize, coordinate, and manage the campaign, the ultimate success depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate toys,” notes Rita. “Events like the Gala help us create awareness and exposure for Toys For Tots in the local communities, which ultimately translates into hope for more children at Christmas.”
