A GoFundMe was started in Gansberg's memory. The fundraiser's description reads, in part, "Kaylee Ann was a shining star — she set the world on fire and her bright light always shone through. She was a young, charismatic girl with so much life to live, places to see, and dreams to accomplish. The world is a little less bright without her in it, especially for her family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to have met her."

As of Thursday afternoon, the GoFundMe had raised more than $38,000.
