Fountain, Cherry Blossom Walk Come To Lisle To Honor Hokusai Exhibit
Lisle's summer festivities also include sake tastings, special events and more.

LISLE, IL — Downtown Lisle will join in the celebration of the Hokusai & UKIYO-E: The Floating World exhibition with artwork, a cherry blossom walk and special events of its own. The exhibition opens at Cleve Carney Art Museum on May 31.
Downtown Lisle's Hokusai-inspired exhibition was described as "an immersive experience featuring augmented reality," on the village's website. Organizers held a kickoff party May 24 to begin the festivities, which will last through the summer.
A new fountain designed by Chinese-American artist Richard Lo was unveiled for the May 24 kickoff event. The Downtown Lisle Garden Walk Fountain is located near Main Street and Burlington, on the west side of Main.

For the exhibition, Japanese garden features were also added to The Garden Walk in Lisle.

Summer Read Kickoff Party
May 31 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Lisle Library District
Lisle Library District will celebrate the start of its summer reading program with an event that plans to integrate "several special Hokusai-inspired elements and activities," per a description on the village website. The event includes a foam party, an interactive mosaic project, live music and corn dogs.
Downtown Lisle Passport
June 1 through June 15
Residents can fill up a downtown Lisle Passport for a chance to win admission for two to Hokusai & UKIYO-E: The Floating World. To enter the raffle, participants must get their passport stamped by 12 of the 15 businesses on the passport.
Hokusai and the Art of Edo: A Glimpse into Japanese Master and Behind-The-Scenes of the Exhibition Presented by Diana Martinez
June 10 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Lisle Library District
McAninch Arts Center Executive Director Diana Martinez will host a program that offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Hokusai exhibition. Martinez will talk about how the exhibition was curated and share details about some of the pieces.
Bottles, Barrels & Brews
Aug. 16 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Museums at Lisle Station Park
This 21-and-over event will serve up beer, wine and liquor to celebrate the Hokusai exhibition. Attendees can also enjoy sake tastings.
