Illuminate the Riverwalk - Sexual Assault Awareness Month
Join us as we shine light in the darkness and surround survivors in support.
1 in 4 women will be assaulted in college and 1 in 6 men will be assaulted before the age of 18. While these topics are difficult to talk about, Meggie Zayas from Reclaiming Me is hosting a candlelight event on April 1st to mark the beginning of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. You'll be able to hear survivors speak, enjoy a musical performance by Katie Meyers and a candle lighting ceremony.
We wish to shine light in the darkness and create a space for survivors and supporters alike. If you wish to learn how to better support survivors in your own community or in your life, please come with questions. If
you are a survivor, please know you are welcome whether you disclose your story or not. You're not alone and we believe you.
