The Internationally Acclaimed African Children's Choir Performing at Lisle Junior High School
On Wednesday, March 18th at 7:00 p.m., the Grammy Nominated African Children's Choir will perform at Lisle Jr. High School.

The Grammy-nominated African Children’s Choir will be visiting Tate Woods Elementary School in Lisle Community School District. 20 children from Uganda will be working with Tate Woods students during the day and performing an incredible concert featuring well-loved gospel songs as well as traditional African song and dance that evening. You will be amazed by their harmonies, dancing, and beautiful smiles. On Wednesday, March 18th at 7:00 p.m., the choir will perform at the Lisle Jr. High School auditorium.
This cultural exchange and concert are hosted by the staff and students at Tate Woods Elementary School with support from the Lisle Education Foundation. “We are excited to not only host the evening concert for our community, but also feel very fortunate that we are able to bring a hands-on cultural exchange experience to our first and second graders in Lisle. They will have an opportunity to sing, dance and learn with Ugandan children”, says Wesley Gosselink, Principal at Tate Woods Elementary. The afternoon cultural exchange program is for Tate Woods students only. The evening concert is free to all. A free-will offering is taken at the performance to support African Children’s Choir programs in education and relief and development. Since 1984, the Choir’s concerts have been their main source of finding to support over 52,000 student sin 7 African countries. Seating is limited to 500.
Music for Life (The parent organization for The African Children’s Choir) works in seven African countries such as, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. MFL has educated over 52,000 children and impacted the lives of over 100,000 people through its relief and development programs during its history. MFL purpose is to help create new leadership for tomorrow’s Africa, by focusing on education.

The African Children’s Choir has had the privilege to perform before presidents, heads of state and most recently the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II, for her diamond jubilee. The Choir has also had the honor of singing alongside artist such as, Paul McCartney, Annie Lennox, Keith Urban, Mariah Carry, Michael W. Smith, and other inspirational performers!
