Keep Our Library Strong

Lisle Library District is a community treasure

Election season sometimes brings out misinformation. The Lisle Library District has been accused of having millions in slush funds; of disguising meetings; of undoing prior votes; even of planning a new $20 million building. All false. All distractions.

It’s important to keep the focus on the role the Library plays in our community, and on what our support means:

Where in town can you attend a concert, check your social media posts, print out an important document and linger in an art gallery – all in one afternoon?

Where can you take a free class on internet basics, borrow new movies and pick up some cds of your favorite musical artist?

Who lets you browse 80 magazines from your home computer, including The New Yorker, Forbes and Rolling Stone; and electronic databases such as Chilton, Morningstar and Lynda.com?

Who has friendly, professional staff happy to respond to your research questions?

The Lisle Library District.

For more than 50 years, the community has supported the Library, adapting with us to changing technologies and services; and celebrated milestones with us, such as our 50th anniversary party in December 2015.

Let’s keep our support strong.

President, Board of Trustees, Lisle Library District
