Lisle Schools to Partner with Community in Planning Efforts
Lisle Community Unit School District is launching a Community Engagement planning initiative called Vision 202.

All residents are invited to participate in shaping District 202’s future.
Lisle, IL - Lisle Community Unit School District 202 is launching a new planning initiative, Vision 202, to begin on January 20, 2015. Vision 202 is a collaborative community engagement process between the school district and district residents.
The focus of the initiative is to ensure the continuation of a successful educational experience for Lisle CUSD 202 students. Through a series of workshops facilitated by district residents, community members will explore aspects of the District including student achievement, programs and services, finances and facilities. Key to the success of this process is the collaboration and discussion between workshop participants. District residents will have the unique opportunity to share ideas and discuss topics in small groups in order to provide feedback to the School Board. Information gathered from the workshops will be used in developing a community-wide collaborative vision that will be presented to the Lisle Board of Education in early summer, 2015.

Lisle CUSD’s Board of Education authorized the formation of a community engagement effort to support the development of a comprehensive plan focused on the direction of the school district for the future. Pam Ahlmann, Board President and member of the Community Engagement Committee, said of the initiative, “We are very excited to launch the Vision 202 Community Engagement Project. It presents the Board of Education with a valuable opportunity to listen to the community and understand diverse perspectives, as we work together in planning for the future of our students.”
A facilitating team for Vision 202 is in place and will be working in the next few weeks to finalize details for the workshop sessions. The success of Vision 202 relies on the active participation from a broad-based representation of community members. In order to achieve this goal, an extensive recruiting effort is planned to involve parents, non-parents, business owners, employees, senior citizens, alumni and other community members.
