The Next Vision 202: Chapter 2 Engagement Session to Focus on Educational Alignment of District Facilities

Lisle CUSD 202 will host the second Vision 202 community engagement session, "Educational Alignment of District Facilities" on Tues, 2-16.

Lisle, IL - Lisle Community Unit School District 202 will host the second Vision 202 community engagement session, “Educational Alignment of District Facilities” on Tuesday, Feb. 16th from 7-9 p.m. at Lisle Jr. High School, 5207 Center Avenue. Participants will discuss how the Lisle 202 facilities support current educational approaches and instructional delivery.

Session Two of the Vision 202 process will begin with a presentation about the direction of education today, how school facilities can impact education, and wrap up with a look at how Lisle 202 facilities impact current practices. Following the presentation, participants will collaborate in small groups to provide feedback that will assist in the formation of a long-term Facilities Master Plan.

Vision 202: Chapter 2 is the second phase of the collaborative community engagement process between the community and Lisle CUSD. It is designed to ensure the continuation of a successful conversation as a plan is developed for the future facility needs in order to continue to support the educational experience of Lisle CUSD students.

Approximately 90 parents, community members and District staff attended the first Vision 202: Chapter 2 community session on January 19. At the first session, Co-chairs Susan Stears and Bill Buchelt shared their continued commitment to facilitating a positive conversation and emphasizing the importance of the community members’ participation in this collaborative process.

The first session featured Dr. Keith Filipiak, Superintendent of Lisle CUSD 202, who presented the projected timeline for the Facilities Master Planning Process including topics for the Vision 202: Chapter 2 community engagement sessions. Future session topics include: Review & Evaluate Facility Options, Financial Implications of Facility Options and Key Findings and Recommendations. Mr. Mark Jolicoeur and Mr. Rick Young, architects from the architecture and design firm Perkins+Will, followed with an overview of the Physical Condition of District Facilities based on the assessments completed during the summer of 2015.
