Open Audition for Ghost Story Tellers

Summer Place Theatre is looking for folks who can tell a spooky tale for Ghost Stories in the Park...In the Dark!

Ghost Stories in the Park...In the Dark! is a family favorite event produced by Summer Place Theatre in cooperation with the Naperville Park District. Auditions are scheduled for Saturday, August 27 and we're looking for a few good tale-tellers.

If you can engage an audience with your storytelling, this could be the perfect role for you, whether you're 16 or 106 years old. Prepare a one to two minutes-long ghost story before audition day and come scare the bejeebers out of us!

Auditions will be held from 1:00p until 4:00p on Saturday, August 27, in the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 Jackson Ave, Naperville. You don't need to schedule an audition time -- just come on over. If you have a video of yourself telling a story, you can email that to us instead at info@summerplacetheatre.org.

Performances are held outdoors in the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion where it's nice and dark in the park. Please bring any date conflicts to your audition. We try to be flexible, but working around conflicts will be at the discretion of the director. For additional show details see our Ghost Stories page.

This is an ensemble show with several storytellers telling one or more stories. We have a repertory of stories to draw on if you don't know more than your audition piece and we're happy to work with you to polish your performance. We require little in the way of rehearsal time. For an example some past performances, take a look at "Tailypo" and "Regarding Your Brains."
