Rep. Sandack Awards "Investing in Illinois" Grants to District 81 Organizations

In partnership with AT&T’s Investing in Illinois Awards Program, State Representative Ron Sandack (R-Downers Grove) presented two local non-profit organizations with $1,000 grants on Friday.

AT&T’s Investing in Illinois Award provides resources and recognition to organizations and programs in Illinois that are improving lives in their communities and the state by advancing education, economic growth, new technologies and other essential community services.

Hope’s Front Door, located in Downers Grove, provides an entry point to social services for community members in need of immediate or continued assistance. They provide assistance through their limited budget and also offer guidance in putting people in touch with other organizations that can help create a path toward self-sufficiency.

Sharing Connections, also located in Downers Grove, provides furniture and other household items to low-income families. The families that turn to Sharing Connections are often coping with a crisis such as domestic violence, recent homelessness, job loss or other financial hardship.

Both groups were nominated for the award by Representative Sandack. “It was my honor to recommend these two very worthy agencies for AT&T’s Investing in Illinois grant program,” said Sandack. “Hope’s Front Door and Sharing Connections are wonderful examples of caring local institutions that provide assistance that empowers Illinoisans during difficult times.”
