Severe Storms, Rain Possible At End Of Week As Temps Near 70 In IL

Weather will be quiet at the start of the week, before rain and possibly severe storms move into the Chicago area.

ILLINOIS — March will close out with warmer weather, and a chance of rain and storms to end the work week, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will be one of the colder days of the week, with a forecasted high of 48 degrees. It will be sunny, and no precipitation is expected.

The weather service said the beginning of the week will be quiet with "more active weather" later in the week, and possibly severe storms.

Tuesday will be slightly warmer with a high of 50 degrees, and again, it will be partly sunny with no rain or snow.

Wednesday will be cooler again, with a high of 48 degrees, and there is a chance of snow, mainly in the morning, according to the weather service. Winds could also gust as high as 25 mph.

Rain will move into the area on Thursday, which has a high of 59 degrees, according to the weather service. Rain will continue into Thursday night, and there is also a chance of thunderstorms.

Friday will be the warmest day of the week, with a high of 66 degrees, but rain is likely and severe storms are possible, according to the weather service.

AccuWeather said to "watch for strong evening thunderstorms" on Friday, and gave a probability of 62 percent for thunderstorms. The private forecaster predicted a high of 64 degrees on Friday.
