3 Things to Look for in Your Child's Basketball Team
More than just another opportunity to learn and play with other 5th & 6th graders...

In an age where all sports are playing all year round, and kids are missing not only the basics of each sport but the joy of the game, what should you look for in your child’s basketball team?
1) Coaching staff. Not only should you investigate who the director of the club is but you should also consider who will be your child’s actual coach. What are their philosophies, do they teach the fundamentals, are their goals in line with your expectations?
Directed by Coach Bruce Buhrandt, this team offers the experience needed in youth basketball. As a previous teacher, high school coach, college coach and scout, he teaches skill development and a love of the game with the future in mind for his players. He and his staff are USA Basketball certified and share a philosophy of learning the skills of the game.

2) Facility. Knowing where your child will play is important. Check out the facility and location of practices and where tournaments are being played. Schools and park districts tend to cancel private rentals when other events come up. Private facilities tend to guarantee practice times, a perk that may cost a few more dollars but is well worth your time! WRampage will practice at Walker Athletics in Lisle, established in 2007. It’s reputation for quality events, family atmosphere, and phenomenal courts is renowned.
3) Additional Benefits. Does the team provide additional training, open gym or other perks and are the costs included in the team fee or is at an additional cost? WRampage includes a free youth court membership during the course of the season where each player can shoot around or work on skills. Additional basketball training outside of the team is at an additional cost associated with the trainer.
