Officials warn the Tier 1 to Tier 2 downgrade may mean staffing reductions, larger class sizes, and tough budget decisions as they work to close the gap.

Homer Glen OKs sewer extention to spur development near 159th and Cedar (chicagotribune.com) — Homer Glen has approved a $2.6 million sewer extension to support development near 159th Street and Cedar Road and feed a new wastewater treatment plant planned for 2030. The move will eventually end the village’s wastewater agreement with Lockport, which currently handles some of Homer Glen’s flow, shifting more treatment in-house.
