WIU Faculty Members Selected for Prestigious IIN Faculty Fellowship (wiu.edu) — Two Western Illinois University faculty members in Macomb have been chosen for the inaugural Illinois Innovation Network Faculty Fellows program, each receiving a $15,000 grant. Their projects will support AI literacy for small businesses and practical patient-safety tools for rural healthcare, with training and resources expected to benefit the local community and the wider state.

Big second and third innings power Macomb over QND, 14-6 (wgem.com) — Macomb High’s Bombers baseball team broke out for nine unanswered runs to beat Quincy Notre Dame 14–6, highlighted by big second and third innings. Strong pitching from Blaine Eddington and clutch hits from Nick Elbe and Kaden Knupp pushed Macomb to a 16–11 record, giving local fans plenty to cheer about.

5. Delores E. Armstrong Obituary – Monmouth, IL (1934–2026) (wgil.com) — Friends and former colleagues in Macomb may remember Delores Armstrong, who spent 15 years working in housekeeping at Western Illinois University after raising her family. The longtime Monmouth resident, known for her cooking and devotion to her grandchildren, died May 7 at age 91, with a Celebration of Life to be announced later.
