Know Before You Go: Manhattan's Independence Day Parade Ready To Roll

MANHATTAN, IL — Bring your family, wear your red, white, and blue, and help the Village of Manhattan celebrate the nation's 250th birthday with a morning full of community pride and patriotic spirit.

The Village's Independence Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4.

"Join the celebration as this year’s Independence Day Parade is more than a tradition," the Village said, "it’s a once-in-a-generation opportunity to celebrate 250 years of American history while showcasing the pride and spirit of the Manhattan community."

The parade begins near Anna McDonald School, with the route visible below.

"Come early, grab your spot along the route, wave your flags, and cheer on our amazing parade entries!"

Originally paused due to anticipated traffic impacts from the return of Chicagoland Speedway NASCAR events, the parade is back on after strong community feedback and overwhelming support, officials said.

"Reinstating the Independence Day Parade, especially as we prepare to celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, is a meaningful way to honor our history, showcase our local pride, and create lasting memories for families across Manhattan," said Mayor Mike Adrieansen. "We’re excited to see our community come out in full spirit to celebrate both our country and our village."
