In nearby Tinley Park, residents and visitors will be required to wear a face covering in public starting Friday to help slow the spread of the new coronavirus.

"Some communities have ordered face coverings to be worn in many public places, I have not yet issued an executive order yet, but I am asking all Manhattan residents to wear a mask while working or patronizing a business open to the public," Doyle said.

The current stay-at-home order is through April 30.
