Manhattan Cheerleaders Honored By Village

The Manhattan Patriots Junior Varsity and the Lightweight cheer teams both competed at the state competition in December.

MANHATTAN, IL — At the Manhattan village board meeting March 3, Mayor James Doyle presented STAR awards to the Manhattan Patriots Junior Varsity and the Lightweight cheer teams.

According to board documents, the junior varsity squad and the lightweight team both competed at the Illinois Recreational Cheerleading Association's state competition in December. The junior varsity team took second place in their division.

According to board documents, the junior varsity team is coached by Kelly Lanz, Taryn Cadore and Rachel Craven. The roster includes: Aubrey Becks, Hannah Berger, Heidi Bergmann, Brynn Bergthold, Madison Cadore, Rachel Cohen, Ella Craven, Erin Donovan, Teagan Dudeck, Brooklyn Giaretta, Paige Hesser, Hayden Kinsella, Isabella Kowalewski, Lauren Lanz, Katelyn Lenard, Isabela Maior, Miranda Pfizenmaier, Arianna Razo, Giavanno Ruffolo and Caitlyn Smith.

The team roster for the lightweights includes: Carly Connelly, Claire Connelly, Madalyn Connelly, Brianna Baron, Abby Basile, Ashlynn Grund, Marissa Gulley, Macy Zitkus, Madison Durbon, Joslyn Engnell and Alaina Wilson.
