Manhattan Looks To Hire Police Officer From Another Town

The Village of Manhattan is hiring a police officer for a lateral transfer only.

MANHATTAN, IL - The Manhattan Police Department is hiring a police officer, but applicants that will be considered must already be working as a police officer in another town. The open position is for a lateral transfer only, according to the village.

Current police officers in other towns are invited to apply for the position before Friday, Feb. 16 at 5 p.m.

In addition to already being a working officer, applicants must also have completed at least 30 college credit hours and be at least 23 years old to apply. Applicants cannot be older than 35 and the college credit requirement will be waived for any military members who were honorably discharged.
