"We are aware that programs related to child care, such as summer day camps, are very important to many of our families," the park district wrote in the letter. "We are preparing for the quickest, yet safest return to programming following the public health guidelines issued."
All regions in Illinois are currently meeting health metrics to move into phase 3 at the end of the month. Phase 3 only allows gatherings of 10. After 28 days, it is possible that Manhattan and the northeast region could move into phase 4, which allows for gatherings up to 50 and could make summer camps possible. Specific guidelines on summer camps have not been released.
