Manhattan Will Not Hold Independence Day Parade In 2026: Village
The Village has decided to pause the parade for 2026, amid NASCAR's return to Chicagoland Speedway.

MANHATTAN, IL — Manhattan officials on Wednesday said the Village will pause its annual Independence Day Parade for 2026.
The Village made the call ahead of the return of NASCAR to the Chicagoland Speedway July 3–5.
This marks the first NASCAR event at Chicagoland Speedway since 2019 and is expected to bring a large number of visitors to the area throughout the holiday weekend, the Village said in a release. With the increased traffic and activity anticipated during the race weekend, the Village felt it was important to limit additional road closures and disruptions within the community.
