After an ESDA member spotted an object in the dam, a fire district drone flight was conducted over the watercraft where the drone pilot was able to identify the registration number from the craft, which was given to IDNR Law Enforcement.

The Wilmington Fire District was assisted at the scene by Manhattan Fire Protection District EMS and Coal City fire district’s boats who were returning from their own water-related incident.
