JOLIET, IL — Allied Nursery owner Ronald Plunk said sometimes people have dumped tires and garbage on the side of the road near his property, but his gruesome discovery on Monday was something he hadn't seen before.

Someone dumped the body parts of four pigs, including the heads, legs and intestines, along with two blue garbage cans, onto the nursery property near Schweitzer Road and Route 53, Plunk told Patch. Plunk shared a social media post with pictures on his profile and also posted it to several community groups, where it received hundreds of comments from nearby residents.

"There's a right and a wrong here," Plunk said. "It just pisses me off."

Plunk said the area near his property is rural, and the road is actually closed off right now. Joliet Police said they did respond to the nursery after Plunk called, but there was no police report filed per Plunk's wishes.

Police said there was a potential suspect at the time the officer was on scene, but once police spoke to them, it was not the person they thought it was.

Plunk said his son and an employee picked up the parts of the pig, as well as the other garbage in the cans, which include beer cans, gloves and chewing tobacco.

He wasn't entirely sure who could have dumped the remains on his property.

"The truth will always come out," Plunk said.
