• Cook County Announces $8M Relief Fund To Help Clear Mountains of Debris Left From Summer Storms (newsbreak.com) — Matteson is set to serve as one of three regional hubs where storm debris from across the south suburbs will be consolidated for removal, backed by an $8 million Cook County relief fund. Local leaders say the money will help communities like Matteson, Glenwood, and Homewood clear massive piles of tree damage without slashing basic services, after federal emergency aid failed to materialize.
