The single-family house with an attached two-car garage will be sold as-is for cash, with a 10% certified deposit due immediately and the balance within 24 hours. Local residents or investors interested in bidding are urged to review the court file beforehand. 
• Carol Sue Schafer, 85 (effinghamradio.com) — Family and friends in the Mattoon area are mourning Carol Sue Schafer, who passed away May 29 at Willow Breeze Hospice House in Mattoon. Services are set for Thursday, June 4, in Newton, with memorials suggested to Willow Breeze Hospice House. She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and skilled seamstress with deep roots in area communities.
• Marjory Lamurance Titus, 95 (effinghamradio.com) — A longtime area resident, Marjory Lamurance Titus passed away May 29 at the Odd Fellow Rebekah Home in Mattoon at age 95. The Neoga native was remembered for her dedication to family and years of helping others through Alcoholics Anonymous. A graveside service is planned June 18 at Roselawn Cemetery in Charleston.
