Lane Closures Coming To Charleston Avenue Starting This Week (myradiolink.com) — Expect lane closures and construction delays on Charleston Avenue in Mattoon starting as early as Wednesday or Thursday, with major milling beginning April 27 and resurfacing May 4. Work stretches between Swords Avenue, 6th Street, and Lake Land Boulevard, including signal upgrades. Plan extra travel time and watch for updates from the City of Mattoon.

Mattoon invests in new equipment and testing after water contamination (wandtv.com) — Mattoon officials are stepping up protections for the city’s drinking water after last summer’s microcystin contamination and “Do Not Drink” advisories.
